All resources you need to crack ISI UGA & UGB (FREE)

In this blog, I will be sharing:

  1. My short notes for mathematics for JEE(A), ISI, CMI, and Olympiads.
  2. A collection of handwritten chapter-wise questions with solutions for JEE and ISI/CMI entrance exams.
  3. A collection of important PYQs of ISI & CMI (screenshots from video solutions).
  4. Important Books for Mathematics preparations for ISI/CMI.
  5. Other Resources.

Before jumping right into the resources (notes, books and problems), let us understand some things first. You might already know my journey and how I prepared for ISI and CMI exams (for reference you can click here). Here I am going to share everything that I used to crack the exams for anyone who might want to know.

Video Lectures

As discussed in the preparation article, I watched the following lectures on YouTube to understand the theory and practice basic problems:

  1. JEE MANZIL 2.0 SERIES (MATHS) - PW
  2. NUMBER THEORY - VOS
  3. GEOMETRY - VOS
  4. IOQM CRASH COURSE - PJ
  5. JEE MATHS CRASH COURSE - VEDANTU JEE

Notes

I took the printout of the mathematics notes by Sid Academy for JEE, reviewed them while watching the lectures, and updated them whenever I learned something new that wasn’t covered in the notes.

After finishing the syllabus once, I started making my own handwritten short notes to revise and consolidate all the concepts and problem-solving ideas in one place. This way, I didn’t have to search around for resources. Now I am going to share them with you.

First are the short notes, which are digitally scanned handwritten notes designed for quick and effective revision. They include concepts, theorems, problem-solving techniques, and results from important topics like Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, Number Theory, Geometry, and Vectors & 3D Geometry. These notes are structured in a colorful, mind-map-like format to make revision easy and engaging. They are perfect for final preparation or for revisiting all topics at a glance.

Here are some screenshots you can check.

I also have some notes for basic mathematics, which are perfect for building a strong foundation. These notes cover Basic Number Theory, Basic Algebra, Geometry Theorems, Mathematical Reasoning, Proof Techniques, Mathematical Modelling, Linear Programming, Statistics, and Calculation Tricks. They include everything you need from Class 6 to 10 mathematics in a concise, easy-to-follow format. These are excellent for refreshing basic concepts or revisiting foundational topics quickly.

Here’s a sample PDF for you to explore.

Problems

While learning concepts, I solved a variety of problems after each chapter to solidify my understanding. To ensure I could revisit and revise effectively, I maintained a notebook compiling all those problems along with their solutions. Most of these are JEE Previous Year Questions (PYQs), carefully selected to cover all important concepts and problem-solving techniques.

This collection includes problems from topics like Algebra, Calculus, Trigonometry, Geometry, Coordinate Geometry, Vectors, and more. Each problem is accompanied by a step-by-step solution, with multiple methods provided wherever applicable. These problems are designed to reinforce your understanding of key concepts and improve your confidence in tackling complex questions during exams.

Why This Collection is Essential

  • Comprehensive Practice: Covers a wide variety of problem types to prepare you thoroughly.
  • Exam-Focused: Includes many JEE PYQs to familiarize you with the actual exam pattern.
  • Strengthens Problem-Solving Skills: Builds confidence in applying concepts effectively.
  • Well-Structured Solutions: Helps you learn multiple ways to approach and solve a problem.

After mastering basic problems, I practiced tougher problems by solving PYQs from ISI and CMI with the help of Mathsmerizing ISI & CMI solutions and VOS video solutions. To revisit these problems later, I took screenshots of the tough and conceptual ones. Hence these contains a really good collection of PYQs that one must solve in order to clear the exam. Also it can be viewed as a collection of the important PYQs that can solve to cover the most in least time without going here and there. Here’s the collection of all those screenshots:

  1. UGA
  2. UGB
  3. ISI UGA UGB Past year papers B.Stat. and B.Math.
  4. CMI Past year papers

I also purchased the Vedantu ISI crash course (though it wasn’t very good at the time) and went through the Number Theory and Geometry sections. I’ve included the problems here for reference, but similar problems can be found on the VOS and Unacademy Olympiad Corner.
